Pessima Vol.3 – Charlie Jimenez Edition

Pessima is an independent magazine that explores and represents Trans* identities. It delves into how these identities are conveyed through the lens of young contemporary art, highlighting the varied experiences of the subjects. With firsthand experience of what it means to be an emerging young Trans* artists in Italy, out team combined their efforts to create a platform that could amplify the voices of those identities and art forms often overlooked or silenced by the mainstream. Pessima was thus conceived primarily to shape a dialogue around Trans* art that genuinely represents and honors us.

The third issue, aka Phantom Pain, for the first time digs into a specific theme. Highly influenced by the hostile environment and politcal turmoil of the past years, we pushed our artists to open up and explore their personal traumas and relationship with contemporary events. The first chapter “Phantom Pain” features original photography projects that uncover the SUBJECTIVE experiences of Trans/Non Binary artist with their past and present PTSDs. The second chapter “Patriotic Junkie”, on the other hand, discusses OBJECTIVE evidences and the complex dynamics of the world we live in today.
